Lila Ogletree

LaCenter, KY Lila Ogletree, age 101, passed away at Life Care Center of LaCenter on Wednesday, December 27, 2023. She was born in Bulloch County, Georgia to her late parents John and Hazel Evans.

Lila was the oldest member of Grace United Methodist Church (Grace Church) and was a member for over 70 years. She was a member of Town and Country Homemakers for over 50 years. Lila also participated in Kentucky Veterinarian Medical Auxiliary and American Medical Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, reading and loved working in the yard with flowers and vegetables. Her greatest joy was ballroom dancing with her late husband Charlie.

She is survived by her daughter, Joy Lindsey of LaCenter, KY; a son Michael Ogletree (Anne) of LaCenter, KY; twelve grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and one great great great grandchild.

Lila was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Charlie Joe Ogletree; one son, Charlie Joe Ogletree Jr; two daughters, Paula Lee Brooks and Hazel Maria Birdsong; one sister, Pauline Daniel and grandson, Daniel Joe Lindsey.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 29, 2023 after 11:00 a.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY.

Funeral service will be held Friday, December 29, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY with Rev. Tyler Bird officiating.

Interment will follow at LaCenter Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent Grace Church, P.O. Box 330, LaCenter, KY 42056.
