Lola Eva Jean (Bowles) Gibson

Lola Eva Jean Bowles Gibson, age 96, of Kevil, Kentucky, passed away at 8:34 a.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Creekwood Place Nursing Home in Russellville, Kentucky.

Jean was born on April 28, 1926, to the late Marion and Lovie Haynes Bowles. She married Maurice Warner Gibson, the love of her life, on March 10, 1942. They celebrated 72 years of marriage before his passing. Jean loved to cook and even went on mission trips and cooked for as many as 200 at a time. She loved working in her yard, traveling, gardening, and sewing. She was an excellent seamstress. But the greatest of all her loves was her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Jean Davenport (Bro. Randy) of Elkton, Kentucky; two grandsons, Bro. Shane Davenport (Crystal) of Metropolis, Illinois, and Matthew Davenport (Tiffany) of Elkton, Kentucky; seven great-grandchildren, Drake, Bryce, Jillian Davenport of Metropolis, Illinois and Lola, Shelton, Lewis, Pierce Davenport of Elkton, Kentucky; and many nieces and nephews.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice W. Gibson; one son, Maurice Dale Gibson; two sisters, Maxine Sullivan, and Almarine Tilford; five brothers, TJ Bowles Sr., Shelby Bowles, LeRoy Bowles, Bill Bowles, and Baby Bowles.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 1, 2022, at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, Kentucky with Bro. Randy Davenport and Bro. Shane Davenport officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00p.m. on Monday, August 1, 2022, at Morrow Funeral Chapel.
