M.T. Bowles

Kevil, M.T. Bowles age 90 passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Baptist Health in Paducah, KY. M.T. was born in Barlow, KY on February 4, 1934, to his late parents, LeRoy and Ida Mae (Tilford) Bowles.

He married the love of his life, Ruth (Shelby) Bowles on May 31, 1952, and would have celebrated 73 years. He was a Korean Army Veteran, served as a deacon at Kevil Baptist Church for over 50 years and was now attending Kevil United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Kevil Masonic Lodge. For many years he owned and operated Bowles Construction Company. Through the years M.T. had three National Champion Standardbred Harness Racing horses. He enjoyed people and especially talking to them about his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. M.T. was a family man and loved spending time with them. In addition to this, M.T also loved to fish.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Shelby) Bowles of Kevil, KY; a son, Tim Bowles of Brentwood, TN; and a daughter, Melody White (Jeff) of Kevil, KY. M.T. was preceded in death by his daughter in law, Sandy Bowles, a sister Clara Mae Young, a brother Lewis Bowles and his parents.

Graveside services will be held at Woodville Cemetery in Kevil on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Jimmy Franks and Rev. Rhea Bowles officiating.

Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery.
