Martha Lou (Shelby) Scott

Lou Shelby Scott, age 95, entered into heavenly eternal peace on Tuesday October 3, 2023 at Rivercrest Place in Paducah, KY. Born in Bandana, KY on December 26, 1927 to John G. and Ruby Cooper Shelby, Lou graduated from Bandana High School and then married her husband, Everette Earl Scott on July 20, 1946. She was employed at USEC and then became an employee of Ballard County Co-op in LaCenter for over 32 years. A resident of LaCenter KY for 75 years, she also was a 75 year member of LaCenter Methodist Church (presently Grace Church of LaCenter) and belonged to United Methodist Women. As a couple, Lou and Everette enjoyed camping, golfing, traveling, playing Tripoli with friends, and making memories with their family. Not only was Lou highly independent and high-spirited, she was very loving, a faithful Christian and a very determined lady.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Everette Earl , her parents, and her sister, Layne Shelby Kinsey of Benton, KY.

Lou is survived by her two children: daughter, Karen Scott (Bill) Edwards and son, Randy (Alicia) Scott —both of LaCenter, KY. Also surviving are her four grandchildren: Clay Scott Edwards of Lebanon, TN, Holly Renee (Mark) Allen of Gilbertsville, KY, Chad Shelby Scott of LaCenter, KY, and Randall Matthew (Miranda)Scott of Paducah, KY Great-grandchildren are: Mason, Jackson and Addison Allen, Cameron and Cayden Scott and Griffin Scott.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Morrow Funeral Home in LaCenter, KY from 11:00am-2:00pm.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00pm also on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at the funeral home with Bro. Tyler Bird officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Gardens of LaCenter Cemetery.
