Mary (Pahr) Bender

Barlow, KY Mary Bender, age 73, passed away at her home in Barlow on Thursday, September 18, 2025. She was born on March 3, 1952, to her late parents, John Leo and Dorothy Ann (Mahoney) Pahr.

Mary is survived by a daughter, Angela Bartelt (Andrew) of Buffalo Grove, Illinois; two brothers, Robert Pahr of Barlow and Michael Pahr (Diane) of Thompson Station, TN; three sisters, Helen T. Kerwin of McHenry, Illinois, Nanette Johnson of McHenry, Illinois and Denise Pahr of Bloomingdale, Illinois; four grandchildren, Jeremiah Panagopoulos, Jessica Salvador (Alexander), Shannon Corlin (Joshua) and Johnathan Panagopoulos; one great grandchild, Averly Salvador.

She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel E. Bender, a brother, John Pahr and her parents.

Mary attended Grace Church in LaCenter. Her years of employment included, Bank Manager of Great American Federal, and she was also emploued as an accountant for and insurance agency for several years. She enjoyed watching old movies, collecting salt and pepper shakers and Gone with the Wind paraphernalia. Listening to music was a great pastime for her. Her two favorite teams were Chicago Cubs and the Chicago White Sox.
