Vanda Ward

Vanda Ward, age 86, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Countryside Nursing and Rehabilitation in Bardwell, KY.

Everyone that knew her knew she loved the Lord and believed in the power of prayer.  Vanda loved her children and loved to talk on the telephone to them every day.

She was a big Kentucky Wildcats fan.  Nanny as known to her family, loved to tell jokes and stories and kept everyone laughing, which was often " Let me tell you this, or did you know this?

She always had a birthday poem for her children, Roses are red, violets are blue, angels in heaven know we love you.

Vanda is survived by three sons; Phillip Ward of Wickliffe, KY, Homer Ward II of Reidland, and Preston Ward of Reidland.  One daughter; Sharol Dowdy of Reidland. Fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Ward; a daughter, Leshia Watkins; a brother Billy James White and a grandson John Phillip Embrey.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Spring Bayou Cemetery with Kevin Walker officiating.  Interment will follow at Spring Bayou Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 12:00 pm on Wednesday, January 20, 20121 at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY.
